New Science system

OK Folks the science system is now on the test server so I’ve taken a few screen shots for you ;)

Here is my setup on the test server to minimise travel times

test setup

Intermediate buildings:

Bookbinder costs 20 PWP and 80 STONE to build and works sort of like the provision house so does not require storehouse access and upgrading reduces production time.

book binder Lv1book binder lv2book binder lv3book binder lv4book binder lv5

it can only produce 1 item at a time though :(

book binder prodbook binder prod 2

Simple papermill costs 60 PWP 90 STONE and 30 TOOLS

simp paper 1simp paper 2

Finesmith costs 160 PWP 120 STONE and 60 TOOLS

finesmith 1finesmith 2

Advanced buildings:

Intermediate papermill costs 2000 HWP 2000 MARBLE and 2500 TOOLS

int paper 1int paper 2

Lettersmith costs 1000 HWP 1000 MARBLE and 800 TOOLS

lettersmith 1lettersmith 2

Expert buildings:  (both require level 40)

Advanced papermill costs 3500 EWP 3500 GRANITE and 5000 TOOLS

adv paper 1adv paper 2

Ornamentalsmith costs 9000 HWP 3000 MARBLE and 3500 TOOLS

ornamentalsmith 1ornamentalsmith 2

So that’s the buildings costs and production times but these may of course change once Blue Byte get some feedback from the community, also the fact that simple paper takes twice as long as the other 2 types seems strange to me so I have a feeling that will be changed

Now onto the geologists, Geos can be renamed using the blue pencil then return on your keyboard to confirm it. The type of geologist is then put in brackets after the name you choose for him, under that is a quick view of how many of the 3 types of book you have spent on that geologist and a button to take you to his individual skill tree.

geo 1jolly name geo name

Here’s the skill tree as it is just now and a shot of what the geologist window looks like after 1 manuscript was added to the natural copper vein ability. The reset button will reset all skills but you loose the books spent and the refund button costs  Gems but returns your books

geo skill 1 addedgeo book spent

JayUK has upgraded one of his geologists to find 15% larger deposits and this is what he found

coppercopper deposit

For all you lucky people with Endless copper mines here is something to think about!

fast endless copper mine

So its all looking quite good but as I say all figures are subject to change at Blue Byte’s whim :P

If you want a better look at it then head on over to the test server http://www.tsotesting.com/en/homepage and send Ali-Test a friend request so I can invite you into the test guild ;)

Best regards,

Ali-Mac

Welcome to MI5Guild.com!

Welcome to MI5Guild.com!

This is the home for the MI5 guild in The Settlers Online on Newfoundland server. This post is meant as an introduction for new members and serve as a reminder for older members.

Chat

From time to time we do guild meetings on our own chat site, http://chat.mi5guild.com/. People can either register an account or join anonymously by pressing “Join now”. This is always a good place to join when the ingame chat system breaks….

A small note here, usernames are case-sensitive and always lowercase!

Guild quests

To compensate for the lack of a “last online” feature in the guild members list and currently no way to see which member has done the current guild quest and who hasn’t, we’ve implemented a simple tracking site listing each member and each guild quest. While we don’t require members to participate in all guild quests, we encourage members to inform of us absence up front so we can add that to the tracker. Guild quest activity is being used by our officer crew in regards to member issues.

The quick explanation here is, members with a green color has done more than 5 out of the last 10 quests, yellow has done 3 or 4 and red has done 2 or less. White colored cells means the person hasn’t been in the guild for the last 10 quests and hence aren’t being judged yet. C means a person has completed the given guild quests, R means the person has replied in time, but has not completed it (lack of adventure, real life, etc..), A means the person was on vacation at the give time, blank means no reply was given to the person tracking the guild quest.

On the tracker you can always see the name of the person managing the current quests, feel free to mail this person if guild mails haven’t gone out yet or if you’re in need of resources / adventures.

Links

No good websites can survive without links! We’ve gathered a good collection suggested by our members and regularly add more. As always, new links or feedback can be sent to Procat.

 Loot tracking

Our latest project and still being heavily worked on. The idea for loot tracking started with several members starting to distrust the commonly reported drop rates for several adventures, especially with respect to Exotic Wood Logs and Granite. The project is going strong with many members adding their loot to the site, including a few outside our guild. Please check out the site and report any issues to Procat.

News section

This is the place you’re at now. We use this place to keep members up to date on current changes to the game. Ali-Mac / Procat post changes happening on the test server and other small pieces of information that doesn’t quite make it into their own sections.

Trade Calc and Price lists

A big part of being in MI5 is dealing with trades, both in-guild and market trades. We’ve set up a our own price lists with market and in-guild prices, the lists are currently managed by zlo_olz, Notious and Procat.

We have 2 trade calculators, Simple Calc and Advanced Calc, which helps our members easily set up trades with different parameters.

Simple Calc

The most used trade calculator on our site, the simple calc requires the user to enter the amount you want to sell, the item type selling and buying. The result will always be given in the inputted amount, 400, 1k, 2k and 5k.

Advanced Calc

Select an item to trade from and trade to, type in the amount you want to trade on the left side, and watch the magic happening. In the example above, I’ve changed “Suggested sales price” to max, this will make the item I’m selling slightly higher. There’s the option of min, avg, max and guild price available on both sides. This calc also supports custom prices in the “item price” fields.

On both pages we have a “Direct Link” feature where members can easily copy the link to the trade and paste it to others: simply right click on it and select “Copy link location”.

Feedback

We’re always looking for ways to imrpove our website and services, if you have any feedback, please either leave them in the comments below or contact Procat ingame.

Easter event preparations

UPDATE:

Dear Settlers,

We previously stated that those that obtained a Veteran last year during the Easter Event would not receive one.
Thanks to your great feedback, EVERY user will now be able to get a Veteran General for eggs during this year’s Easter event no matter how many Veterans you already have.

Please comment right here.

Best

So it’s almost time for easter and with easter we get another event!

For those who were around for the last easter event, you will likely remember that one of the rewards was a veteran general (250 units). He’s back again this year, BUT, only for people that haven’t bought him for eggs yet. For more information, please read http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/22399-Official-Easter-Event-is-coming.

Guild Quests on the test server

The guild quests and rewards are now available on the test server and our test guild (MI5) are doing them.

The quest consists of 2 parts the first of which is the overall quest for the entire guild which is completed when enough members have completed their individual task.

The exact number of members required to complete I am unsure of but seems to be around 75 to 80% of currently active guild members at the time the quest is given.

The 2nd part is the individual quest for each player to complete and is very much like doing a daily quest where you must ‘make available’ or ‘produce’ a certain type and amount of resource.

The amounts required have been changed to a much more reasonable number and is much closer to the daily quest requirements but obviously depends on the type of resource wanted and your level.

The rewards have changed also and now we get ‘Guild Coins’,   4 to 8 coins for the individual task then another 30 to 50 when enough members complete the individual parts to do the main quest.

Reward amounts depend on level as well.

The guild coins can now be spent in a new section in the trader/market called the ‘Guild market’.

The items available so far are:

‘Roasted Duck’ which doubles output on a workyard for 8hrs  and costs 200 Guild coins.

‘Piero’s Bowl of Pasta’ which doubles output for 12hrs and costs 300 Guild coins.

‘Helpful Scarecrow’ which you use on a farm building to treble output for 10hrs and costs 600 Guild coins.

‘Hidden Marble’ which you use on the mayors house for 100 Marble and costs 100 Guild coins.

‘The Island of Pirates’ adventure for 2000 Guild coins.

and lastly you can save up (or trade for) 4000 Guild coins to buy a Jolly Geologist.

It seems to be running fairly smoothly on test and it possibly wont be long till we get them on the main server but its Blue Byte were talking about after all so i am unable to give an exact eta sorry :(

Quick reminder to those taking part in the test guild: Could you pleas log in every day and do your bit so that it does not hold back the rest of us from completing it and moving onto the next one thanks :D
